[Died] June 8, 1831. London. British actress. Sister of actor J. Kemble. In 1775, D. Garrick recognized her as the greatest tragic actress of her time, and she played roles at Drury Lane Theatre and Covent Garden Theatre. Blessed with beauty and a rich voice, she excelled in heroic roles, with graceful and passionate acting. She is best known for her role as Lady Macbeth.
