Many types of dryers are used depending on the shape and properties of the material to be dried, such as groove type with a heating jacket on the outer wall, groove type agitation dryer in which powdered material is placed in a cylindrical container and the material layer is agitated with a rotor while drying by conductive heating from the outer wall, drum dryer in which a paste-like material is applied to a certain thickness on the outer surface of a rotating cylinder heated by steam from the inside and dried by conductive heating, and the dried material is continuously scraped off with a knife edge, and multi-cylinder dryer in which continuous sheet-like material is wound around the outer circumference of a number of heated rotating cylinders and continuously dried. In addition, (far) infrared dryers and microwave (high frequency) dryers have heating methods that are particularly different from those mentioned above.
