Japanese: 七十一番職人歌合 - しちじゅういちばんしょくにんうたあわせ

This is the last of the "Artisans' Poetry Contests" composed in the Middle Ages. It is thought to have been created around November 1500 (Meiō 9). It features 71 poems, 142 types of artisans, and a total of 465 poems. The original version no longer exists, and all surviving works are early modern copies. It is structured after the 71-volume "Collection of Poems by Bai Juyi," and although it includes more types of art than the preceding "Tohokuin Artisans' Poetry Contest" and "Tsuruoka Hojyokai Artisans' Poetry Contest," it is also a successor to those two works in terms of its illustrations. A distinctive feature of this poem contest is that, although unrelated to the poems or judgments, conversations are written in the gaps between the pictures that match the artisans' actions and expressions, making it a valuable resource for artisans from the Muromachi period.

中世に作られた〈職人歌合〉の最後の作品。1500年(明応9)11月ごろの成立と思われる。71番，142種の職人が登場，歌数は465首。原祖本は存せず，伝存のものはすべて近世の伝本である。71巻本《白氏文集》を模した構成で，先行の《東北院職人歌合》《鶴岡放生会職人歌合》に比し職種は増すが，絵画的にもそれら2作品を継ぐものである。本歌合の特徴は絵の空白に，歌や判詞と無関係ではあるが，職人の所作や表情に合った会話が記されている点で，室町時代の職人資料としても貴重である。
