Nguyen Phi Khanh - Nguyen Phi Khanh

...Vietnamese scholar and thinker in the early 15th century. When the Ming Emperor Yongle's army invaded Vietnam, which had usurped the Tran Dynasty and established the Ho Dynasty (1406), his father, Nguyen Phi Khanh, famous for writing the Rui Xi Collection, was killed by the Ming army. Nguyen Trai hid in the fields and joined the Le Loi uprising in Lam Son in 1418, helping Le Loi to oppose Ming rule. After ten years of conflict, when the Ming army retreated and the Le Dynasty was established, he became a central aide to Emperor Taizu Le Loi, serving as a royal agent and minister of personnel, and took control of the Le Dynasty's political center.
