…In September 1065 (Jiriyaku 1), a copy of a Dajokan document prohibiting the taking of "prize money" at ports and other places along the way when transporting tributes from Etchu Province, this port was listed along with Shiotsu, Oura, and Kizu in Omi and Tsuruga-tsu in Echizen, and it is known that at the time it was a key port on the way from the Hokuriku region via Omi to Kyoto (Mibu family documents). The importance of Keyamatsu is also likely the reason why Uwa-nishi Shrine, a shrine listed in the Engishiki, located here, was the only shrine on the Hokuriku road that received offerings at Tsuki-nami and Niiname. After the Nanboku-cho period, it seems to have gradually declined along with the prosperity of Obama. …
