A wicked act that goes against human morality, such as killing one's lord or parent. ※Konjaku (around 1120) Volume 3 "My lord, what was your mind thinking when you committed such a high crime of treason?" 2. A crime established by harming or attempting to harm the Emperor, Empress, Crown Prince, Crown Prince's Son, Empress Dowager, or Grand Empress Dowager, as stipulated in Article 73 of the old Penal Code. It was punishable by death, but was abolished with the revision of the Penal Code in 1947 . 〘名〙 (「たいぎゃくざい」とも)① 主君や親を殺すような、人の道にそむいた悪逆の行為。※今昔(1120頃か)三「我が君、何に思してかかる大逆罪をば造り給ぞ」② 旧刑法第七三条に規定された天皇・皇后・皇太子・皇太孫・皇太后・太皇太后に対して危害を加え、または加えようとすることによって成立した罪。死刑に処せられることになっていたが、昭和二二年(一九四七)の刑法改正により廃止。
