Judge - jishinkan (English spelling) sasimgwan
A local official in the Goryeo Dynasty, Korea, who was in charge of the local government officials. It began when King Gyeongsun of Silla, who surrendered in the 18th year of the reign of Taejo (935), was appointed as the sashin in Gyeongju, and had him control and supervise the local government officials below the deputy head of household. Later, meritorious officials were appointed as sashin in the provinces where they came from, and had them pacify the regions. As the centralized system was established, the sashin was also controlled, and in the 11th year of the reign of Munjong (1057), the sashin chief was appointed, and the dynasty began to control the regions directly. In the 9th year of the reign of King Chungnyeol (1283), an abolition order was issued, but powerful clans themselves became sashin in order to plunder the local people. In the 5th year of the reign of King Chungsuk (1318), another abolition order was issued, and the land and slaves held by the sashin were confiscated. However, the feudal lord-like influence of these sashin continued until the fall of the Goryeo Dynasty.
