A town in Kami County in north-central Miyagi Prefecture. It borders Kami Town. It occupies the eastern foot of the Ou Mountains, with Shikama as its center. Rice, apples, and livestock are cultivated here. Agricultural processing is also thriving. The town sustained damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 109.28 km2 . 7,431 people (2010).
