Kamigamo Shrine

Common name for Kamo Wakeikazuchi Shrine, a shrine located in Kita-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is Yamashiro Province's Ichinomiya. The deity enshrined is Kamo Wakeikazuchi no Mikoto. It possesses many cultural properties, including the main hall and secondary hall, which are national treasures. It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the "Cultural Assets of Ancient Kyoto." The annual festival in May, the Kamo Festival (Aoi Festival), is famous. 京都府京都市北区にある神社、賀茂別雷神社(かもわけいかずちじんじゃ)の通称。山城国一之宮。祭神は賀茂別雷命(かもわけいかずちのみこと)。国宝の本殿、権殿など多くの文化財を保有。「古都京都の文化財」の一部としてユネスコの世界文化遺産に登録。5月の例祭、賀茂祭（葵祭）が有名。
