A Noh actor and Noh playwright from the late Muromachi period. Commonly known as Yajiro. The eldest son of Kanze Nobumitsu. Renowned as a master of waki and for his contributions in raising the young Tayu Kanze Mototada (later known as Sosetsu) to become a master. His works include "Oyashiro," "Rinzo," "Shozon," "Chikato," "Kasui," and "Katsuragi Tengu." His Noh plays are lively with a wide variety of characters. The creation of Noh came to an end with the two generations of Nagatoshi and Konparu Zenpo (the author of "Arashiyama" and "Ikkaku Sennin").
