Shiekiho - Shiekiho

One of the new laws enacted by Wang Anshi of the Northern Song Dynasty in China. Shiyi was a form of exchange distribution, and as its name suggests, it aimed to streamline commercial distribution. In 1070, Shiyi offices were established at key points in the tea and horse trade in the northwest, controlling trade and excluding wealthy merchants, and the profits were used for border management. Then, in 1072, Shiyi offices were established in Kaifeng and the Grand Canal basin behind it, and the government intervened to purchase unsold goods and distribute them through guild merchants reorganized under the Shiyi offices. The Shiyi offices also intervened in the procurement of government supplies, curbing the excessive profits of big merchants.

中国、北宋(ほくそう)の王安石(おうあんせき)の新法の一つ。市易とは交換流通のことで、その名の示すように商業流通の合理化をねらった。1070年、西北辺の茶・馬貿易の要所に市易司を置き、貿易を統制して豪商を締め出し、その利益を辺境経営にあてた。ついで72年、開封(かいほう)とその後背の大運河流域などに市易司を設け、政府が介入して滞貨を買収し、市易司の傘下に再編されたギルド商人を通じて流通させ、官用品の調達にも市易司が介入し、大商人の暴利を抑えた。
