Born: 1580. Montevarchi
Died in 1654. Roman Italian sculptor. He was an artist in the transitional period from Mannerism to Baroque, and his major works include the Annunciation group in the Cathedral of Orvieto (1603-08), the equestrian sculpture in Piacenza (12-25), and Saint Veronica in St. Peter's Basilica (29-40).
