A Russian woman. Her real name was Andreas-Salome. She was born into an aristocratic family in St. Petersburg. She captivated many intellectuals with her intelligence and charm, and was involved in many activities, such as interacting with philosopher Nietzsche, living with poet Rilke, and participating in the psychoanalyst Freud's circle.
