Saruyacho meeting place

Japanese: 猿屋町会所 - さるやちょうかいしょ

The Edo Shogunate established this office to lend money to the Satajishi. It was located in Saruyacho, Asakusa, Edo (now Kuramae, Taito Ward), and was also called the Satajishi Kaisei Office. In 1789 (Kansei 1), an order to abandon donations was issued to the Satajishi, financial institutions that provided financial support to the Hatamoto vassals, but in order to ameliorate the losses suffered by the Satajishi and to prevent their financial support from being cut off, the Shogunate provided them with 20,000 ryo of financial support. Of this, 10,000 ryo was lent directly to the Satajishi in 20 interest-free installments, and the remaining 10,000 ryo was deposited with newly appointed Accounting Office Official Suppliers, who were then used to lend to the Satajishi, together with their capital contributions. The latter was lent in 20 installments at 6-9% per year from the winter of the same year, and the interest was used as a fee to the Kaisho, and was also used as the principal for the next Satajishi loan, together with the repayment of the previous 10,000 ryo.

江戸幕府が設けた札差への資金貸付役所。江戸浅草猿屋町(現，台東区蔵前)に置かれ，札差改正役所ともいう。1789年(寛政1)旗本御家人への金融業者札差に棄捐令（きえんれい）が発布されたが，札差の損害を慰撫し金融を途絶させないために，幕府は2万両の御下げ金を出資した。うち1万両は札差に直接，無利子20年賦で貸し下げ，残り1万両は新規登用した勘定所御用達に預けて，彼らの出資金を加えて札差に貸し出した。後者は同年冬より年6～9％，20年賦で貸し付けられ，その利子は会所入費とされたほか，さきの1万両の返済金と合わせて次の札差貸付金の元本とされた。
