Sarcomine

Japanese: サルコミン

Common name for N , N' -ethylenebis(salicylideneaminato)cobalt(II). It was synthesized in 1933 by P. Pfeiffer, Tokuichi Tsumaki and others and reported that it changed color to a dark brown in air, and in 1938 Tsumaki discovered that this color change was due to oxygen absorption. Its properties as an oxygen carrier were subsequently studied in detail by M. Calvin and H. Diehl and others. It can be prepared by adding a freshly prepared aqueous solution of cobalt(II) acetate to an ethyl alcohol solution of ethylenediamine, heating the mixture, and then adding salicylaldehyde.

N,N′‐エチレンビス(サリチリデンアミナト)コバルト(II)の通称。1933年P.ファイファー，妻木徳一らが合成し，空気中で黒褐色に変色することを報告，38年妻木がこの変色は酸素の吸収によることを発見した。その後，酸素担体としての性質がM.カルビンやH.ディールらによって詳細に研究された。エチレンジアミンのエチルアルコール溶液に新しくつくった酢酸コバルト(II)水溶液を加えて加熱し，サリチルアルデヒドを加えるとできる。
