Salad oil - Saradayu

Edible vegetable oil with a light flavor that is more refined than refined edible oil and is suitable for eating raw, such as in salad dressing. It is winterized to prevent cloudiness even when refrigerated. The standard for the degree of refinement is set by the JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standards). Cottonseed, soybean, sesame, sunflower, safflower, rapeseed, corn, and other oils are used alone or in combination. It is also used for deep-frying and stir-frying.

精製食用油よりさらに精製度が高く、サラダドレッシングなど生食に適した淡泊な風味の食用植物油。冷蔵しても混濁しないように脱蝋(だつろう)処理（ウインタリング）がされる。JAS(ジャス)（日本農林規格）で精製度の規格が定められている。綿実(めんじつ)、大豆、ごま、ヒマワリ、サフラワー（ベニバナ）、菜種、コーンなどの油が単品あるいは混合して使用される。揚げ物や炒(いた)め物にも用いられる。
