Thermofax
The name of an infrared copying machine developed by the American company 3M in 1950. Its desktop model and dry process were well received, and it was used worldwide until the 1960s. A copy is produced by placing the original in close contact with the machine and irradiating it with infrared light. This method of copying or recording using heat is generally called thermal copying, and the paper used is called thermal copying paper, and is often used for fax paper, etc.
