The name of an infrared copying machine developed by the American company 3M in 1950. Its desktop model and dry process were well received, and it was used worldwide until the 1960s. A copy is produced by placing the original in close contact with the machine and irradiating it with infrared light. 米国のスリーエム社が1950年に開発した赤外線方式複写機の名称。卓上型で乾式という特徴が受け入れられ，60年代まで世界に普及した。原稿を密着して赤外線で照射すると複写写真ができる。このように熱を利用して複写や記録を行う方法を一般に感熱複写法，その用紙を感熱複写紙と呼び，ファクシミリ用紙などに多用。
