Sha-gou-ji (English: Killing Dog Chronicles)

Japanese: 殺狗記 - さっくき（英語表記）Sha-gou-ji

A play from the early Ming Dynasty in China, written by Xu Xin. It is also read as "Sakkouki." It tells the story of Sun Hua, a wealthy man from Bianjing, who indulges in alcohol and sex, and his wife Yang uses a clever plan to reform him. It is an adaptation of the Yuan Dynasty play "Yang's Lady Kills a Dog to Advocate Her Husband." It is one of the four great Southern plays, along with "The Story of Jingchai," "The Story of the White Rabbit," and "The Pavilion of the Moon," and is one of the masterpieces of early Southern play.

中国，明初の戯曲。徐しん (じょしん) の作。「さっこうき」とも読む。汴京 (べんけい) の富豪孫華が酒色にふけるのを妻の楊氏が奇計をもって改心させる話。元代の戯曲『楊氏女殺狗勧夫』を改作したもの。『荊釵記』『白兎記』『拝月亭』とともに四大南戯と称され，初期南曲の代表作の一つ。
