Zagros [Mountains] - Zagros

Japanese: ザーグロス[山脈] - ザーグロス
Zagros [Mountains] - Zagros
A folded mountain range that runs from the west to the south of the Iranian Plateau. It is about 2,000 km long and 200-300 km wide, with mountain ranges nearly 3,000 m above sea level running parallel to each other, forming a natural barrier. The highest peak is Mount Zarde (4,548 m). It is rich in various mineral resources, but the southwestern slope is an oil-rich area that is currently being developed. The surrounding mountainous areas are inhabited by transhumance peoples such as the Lor, Kurds, and Bakhtiaris.
