Freyja (English spelling)

Japanese: フレイヤ(英語表記)Freyja
Freyja (English spelling)
A goddess in Norse mythology. She is the most beautiful of all goddesses, and is the god of beauty, lust, and fertility. She is the daughter of the sea god Njörðr and the sister of Frey. She belongs to the Bananid tribe, but after the war with the Asa, Frey and Njörðr made peace with each other, and she was welcomed into Asgard as one of the main deities, along with Frey, and lived in a beautiful mansion called Sesthrumnir. She is nicknamed Sill, which means sow, and rides a golden-haired boar called Hildisvini, which was made by a dwarf. She also likes to drive a carriage pulled by a cat. Her husband was Oz, and when he suddenly disappeared, Frey traveled around the world searching for him, shedding golden tears. However, as befitting a goddess of lust, she was never faithful, and she had a relationship with her brother Frey, and is said to have given her body to dwarfs in order to obtain the "Brísinga men". Her reputation for beauty spread among the giants of Jotunheim, and it is said that several of them tried unsuccessfully to make Freyja their wife.
