… Parent Carrier Star (Oyaninai-boshi) A Japanese name that considers the central ε of the three stars of Orion to be a filial son, and the two on either side δ and ζ to be the parents who care for the son. It is also listed as a Kansai dialect in the An'ei period (1772-81) of the Edo period, and is still called this in the Kansai dialect in Hyogo, Mie, Shizuoka, Nagano, and other regions, and is sometimes called the "Parent Carrier Star" or the "Filial Piety Star." However, there are many regions where the three stars τ, α, and σ in Scorpio, which have a similar shape to the three stars, and the three stars β, α, and γ in Aquila are called this name, and it is also found in the Edo period, in the Setsuyo-shu. …
