Court summary - Saibanshosho
An imperial law book from the early Kamakura period. Written by Sakanoue Akimoto. Published in 1207 (Shogen 1). 33 articles in total. This is a revision of the civil provisions of the Hoso Shiyosho, such as land ownership, inheritance, and the law of buying, selling, and lending, and puts forward new legal intent. Each article is structured in two parts: the preamble lists the source of law, such as the Ritsuryo Code, and the main text (draft text) shows the legal intent and judgment. This book inherits the Hoso Shiyosho, but further reflects its legal intent in line with social reality, and it also influenced the formation of the Kamakura Shogunate law (especially the Goseibai Shikimoku).
