Koromogawa

The former village name (Koromogawa Village) was located in Isawa District, southwest of Iwate Prefecture. Currently, the area occupies the southwestern part of Oshu City. In 2006, it merged with Mizusawa City, Esashi City, Maesawa Town in Isawa District, and Isawa Town to form Oshu City. National Route 4 passes through the eastern edge of the former village area, and it is close to the Hiraizumi Maesawa Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway. It is located at the eastern foot of the Ou Mountains, and 80% of the area is covered by forest. There are a few rice paddies along the Kitamata River, Minamimata River, and Kinogawa River, and beef cattle breeding and reforestation projects are active. It borders Hiraizumi Town on the north, and there are many ruins, such as the battlefields of the Zenkunen and Gosannen Wars and the Chojagahara Temple ruins (a prefectural historic site). There are Furusato Nature School and Kunimidaira Ski Resort.

岩手県南西部、胆沢郡(いさわ)にあった旧村名（衣川村(むら)）。現在は奥州(おうしゅう)市の南西部を占める地域。2006年（平成18）水沢市(みずさわし)、江刺市(えさしし)、胆沢(いさわ)郡前沢町(まえさわちょう)、胆沢町と合併して奥州市となった。旧村域の東端を国道4号が通り、東北自動車道の平泉前沢インターチェンジに近い。奥羽山脈東麓(とうろく)にあり、80％が森林で占められる。北股(きたまた)川、南股川、衣川沿いにわずかに水田が開け、肉牛飼育や植林事業が活発である。平泉(ひらいずみ)町に北接し、前九年・後三年の役の古戦場や長者原(ちょうじゃがはら)廃寺跡（県史跡）などの遺跡が多い。ふるさと自然塾、国見平スキー場などがある。
