[Live] Tiankan 18 (519) [Died] Taiken 13 (581) A scholar of the Liang and Chen dynasties of the Southern Dynasties in China. Born in Wu (Suzhou, Jiangsu Province). He became a doctor of the University of Liang and a doctor of the State of Chen, and was in charge of the compilation of the national history. He was a well-read scholar and wrote many books, but his most famous work is the dictionary "Yupian." The original was lost, but it was reworked during the Tang and Song dynasties and was widely used until the Qing dynasty.
