Pharyngology - Intouka

...It is a branch of clinical medicine that treats the ears, nose, and throat. It also deals with sensory disorders such as hearing, balance, smell, and taste, and communication disorders such as speech disorders. Historically, otorhinolaryngology was not a unified field of study from the beginning. In the 18th century, ear specialists were born as independent physicians from surgeons, and laryngologists were internists with knowledge of chest diseases. In the 19th century, it was unified as otorhinolaryngology, and the invention of the reflector and laryngoscope played a major role in this.
