Criticism of Hu Feng

A critical movement against literary theorist Hu Feng and his group in China from 1954 to 1955. Hu Feng's theories were based on the theories of Chukawa Hakuson and were centered on the "burning of subjectivity" and "expansion of the ego." After the establishment of New China, in response to criticism from Lin Mohan and He Qifang, Hu Feng wrote "Opinions on Literary Issues" (June 1954), criticizing the Communist Party leadership for their lack of understanding of literature and their factional management. From January to May 1955, Hu Feng wrote self-criticism, claiming that he had confused "the revolutionary character and stance of the petty bourgeoisie" with that of the working class, but from May 13, the People's Daily published Hu Feng's private letters with editorial "annotations," exposing the deception of his self-criticism and calling him "counter-revolutionary."

中国，1954年より55年にかけての，文芸理論家胡風とその集団に対する批判運動。胡風の理論は，厨川白村の理論に基づく〈主観の燃焼〉〈自我の拡張〉がおもな内容である。新中国後，林黙涵や何其芳の批判に答える形で，胡風は〈文芸問題に対する意見〉(1954年6月)を書き，共産党指導部の文学への無理解と派閥的運営を批判した。55年1月より5月にかけ，胡風は〈小ブルジョア階級の革命性と立場〉を労働階級のそれと混同したと，自己批判を書いたが，《人民日報》は5月13日より，編者〈按語〉をつけ，胡風の私信を公開して，自己批判の欺瞞性を暴き，〈反革命〉と規定した。
