The National Police Agency was established in 1947 as a system of police that was maintained by the state under the old Police Law. The National Public Safety Commission was placed under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister, and the National and Local Police Forces were placed under it to carry out enforcement. The National Public Safety Commission's administrative department was the National and Local Police Headquarters, and six police district headquarters were established throughout the country as local administrative departments, which continued until the revision of the Police Law in 1954.
