[1] A sacred mountain in Wutai County, northeastern Shanxi Province, China. It is so named because it has five towering peaks, all of which have flat, table-like summits. Daito-ji Temple, Seiryo-ji Temple, Kinkaku-ji Temple, and Kitayama-ji Temple are built here, making it one of the three great Buddhist holy sites. There is also a Lamaist temple. It is 3,040 meters above sea level. Seiryo-san. Shifu-san. *Ryōiki (810-824), Vol. 1: "The golden mountain is Mount Wutai." [2] A mountain in the southeast of Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture.
