A town in Shari District, eastern Hokkaido. Facing the Sea of Okhotsk, the Senmo Main Line passes through the town. The coastal sand dunes of Lake Tofutsu are famous as the Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden. The town is mainly involved in field crops and dairy farming. Potatoes, wheat, and sugar beets are produced, and food processing is also carried out. Lake Tofutsu was registered as a Ramsar Convention wetland in 2005. 286.89 km2 . 5,358 people (2010).
