Conger myriaster (English spelling)

...The eggs are large and planktonic, and the larvae are leptocephalous (leaf-shaped larvae) similar to those of eels. The Japanese conger eel Conger myriaster (illustration) is the most important species of conger eel, and is found in large numbers in the waters off Japan from Uchiura Bay south of Hokkaido, especially on the Pacific coast, and further along the coast of the Korean Peninsula and the East China Sea. The body is gray-brown, with a light-colored ventral side.
