〘名〙 一度文字を書いた紙をすきかえして再生した紙。墨の脱色が十分でないため、浅黒く、むらがあるところから薄墨紙・水雲紙(すいうんし)ともいった。最初上質の紙をすいていた官営の紙屋院が、平安末期に衰微し、主としてすきがえしを行なうようになってからは、紙屋紙の別称となった。主に宣旨の案文を書くのに用いられた。還魂紙。すくし。※小右記‐長徳二年(996)八月九日「少選大内記斉名草勅答持来、頗有所疑、仍令改直、又重宿紙進之」
