The name of the head of the Nishikawa School of the Orthodox School of Japanese Dance. (1) First Generation (1875-1931, Meiji 8-Showa 6): Studied under the 7th Nishikawa Minosuke and Nishikawa Kimai, and was granted the name Nishikawa Kiyoharu. Later he studied under the Mizuki, Fujima, Bando, and Hanayagi schools, and in 1916 became independent under the name Kishu. (2) Second Generation (1904 (Meiji 37)-): Adopted daughter of the first generation, and took the name in 1932. (3) Fourth Generation (1928 (Showa 3)-): Daughter of the second generation, Kiyoharu. Her husband (later Hanakawa Chojuro) briefly succeeded the third generation, but the relationship fell apart, and Kiyoharu took the name of the fourth generation in 1963. 日本舞踊正派西川流の家元名。(1)初世(1875‐1931∥明治8‐昭和6) 7世西川巳之助,西川喜舞に師事し,西川喜代春の名を許される。のち水木,藤間,坂東,花柳の各流に学び,1916年に喜洲を名のり独立。(2)2世(1904(明治37)‐ )初世の養女で,1932年に襲名。(3)4世(1928(昭和3)‐ )2世の娘喜代春。その婿(のちの花川蝶十郎)が一時3世を継いだが不縁となり,喜代春が1963年に4世を襲名。
