Following on from Tang Poetry Compendium, Shen Deqian of the Qing Dynasty compiled this anthology in 1719 (Kangxi 58) from the pre-Qin to Sui dynasties. It has 14 volumes. Shen Deqian followed the Ming Dynasty's Li Mengyang and other ancient literary scholars in holding that Tang poetry was the "highest peak" of poetry, but he reflected on their clinging to Tang poetry and its imitation, and sought to find the origins of poetry beyond the Book of Songs. Although he used Wang Shizhen's Selection of Ancient Poems as a reference, he did not limit himself to five- or seven-line poems, but also included three- and four-line "guui" and "miscellaneous songs."

清の沈徳潜（しんとくせん）が《唐詩別裁集》にひきつづき，1719年(康熙58)に編集した先秦から隋までの詩の総集。14巻。沈徳潜は，唐詩が詩の“極盛”であるとする点では明の李夢陽（りぼうよう）ら古文辞派の説を引き継ぐが，彼らが唐詩に固執してその模倣に終わったことを反省して，《詩経》のほかにも詩の源流をさぐろうとした。王士禎の《古詩選》を参考にしてはいるが，五言，七言詩に限定せず，三言，四言の〈古逸〉〈雑歌謡〉も集録する。
