Taping - taping

Japanese:
Taping - taping
Taping involves using adhesive tape, similar to a bandage, to restrict movement of the limbs (hands and feet) or trunk (torso) or to compress muscles in order to treat or prevent injuries (trauma, disorders).
The tapes used include non-stretchy and stretchy tapes (elastic tape), as well as underwraps to protect the skin, and tapes are available in various widths depending on the area to be used.
Taping is a simple medical procedure, but if performed by someone without knowledge of anatomy, such as the structure of joints, or the course and functions of tendons, ligaments, and muscles, it may actually cause injury. It is important to have it performed by a properly trained athletic trainer.
Additionally, taping yourself can often be insufficient and dangerous.
Taping, which is used to immobilize and compress the area to treat injuries, is very effective as a first aid measure until you can receive medical treatment from a doctor.
Taping is sometimes used to reinforce ligaments and limit the direction of joint movement to prevent recurrence of sprains, etc. In this case, it is dangerous if the taping loosens during the competition, so it is necessary to rewrap it if it loosens. It is also important to remove it immediately after the competition.
