Guxiangtun ruins

An early Neolithic site located in Hejiagou, Guxiangtun, 5 km southwest of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. In 1931, Ahnert EE, Loukashikin AS, Yun Chanhun and others surveyed the site and collected many fossil animal bones. Later, in 1933 (Showa 8), a Manchuria-Mongolia academic research team led by Tokunaga Shigeyasu and Naora Nobuo conducted a large-scale excavation and discovered stone tools, bone and horn tools and other remains. The site is located in a low-lying marshland on the banks of the Hot Springs River, and fossils, stone tools, and bone and horn tools of mammoths, woolly rhinoceroses, horses, cattle, deer and other animals have been excavated from clay and sand layers beneath the black topsoil. The stone tools include small chipping tools, stone fragments, and stone cores, and are thought to belong to the Early Neolithic Microlithic Culture found in the northern border of China.

中国、黒竜江(こくりゅうこう／ヘイロンチヤン)省ハルビン市の南西5キロメートルの顧郷屯何家溝にある新石器時代初期の遺跡。1931年にアーネルトE. E. Ahnert、ルカシキンA. S. Loukashikin、尹賛勲(いんさんくん)らはこの地を調査して化石獣骨を多数採集した。その後、1933年（昭和8）に徳永重康(しげやす)、直良信夫(なおらのぶお)らの満蒙(まんもう)学術調査団が大規模な発掘を行い、石器や骨角器などの遺物を発見している。遺跡は温泉河畔の低湿地に位置し、黒色表土の下にある粘土層や砂層からマンモス、毛サイ、ウマ、ウシ、シカなどの化石や石器、骨角器が出土している。石器類には小形の刮削(かっさく)器、石片、石核があり、中国の北辺に分布する新石器時代初期の細石器文化に属するものと考えられている。
