...The species whose fruits do not color and ripen yellowish-white is called white-fruited Prunus tomentosa. Similar closely related species include the Japanese plum and the Pacific plum (P. triloba Lindl.), both of which are bush-like shrubs used as garden trees. In recent years, Prunus tomentosa has been studied for use as a dwarf peach rootstock.
