Axiomaticism

Axiomaticism
The theory of mathematics is based on the idea that all theories must be established by rigorous reasoning, starting from a set of fundamental axioms. It was proposed and put into practice by the German mathematician Hilbert at the end of the 19th century. Modern mathematics is driven by this position.
