Born in the third year of Kyoroku. Grandson of Takachika Shigenaga. Served under Tokugawa Ieyasu. Served as the magistrate of Okazaki in Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture) and was an envoy for peace negotiations during the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute. After Ieyasu entered the Kanto region, in 1590 he became the lord of Iwatsuki Castle in Musashi (Saitama Prefecture) and was given a fief of 20,000 koku. Died on January 26, 1600. Age 79.
