1295‐1345 A calligrapher from the Yuan Dynasty in China. He went by the pen name Zishan. He was also called Kangli Gong. He was from the Kangli tribe, a Turkic nomadic people in Central Asia. Both his father and older brother acquired a highly sophisticated Chinese education, and served at the Kuizhang Pavilion, the educational institution under Emperor Wen, and became professors of the Academic Academy. During the reign of Emperor Shunzong, he was appointed as the head of the Hanlin Academy. He was known for his excellent calligraphy, and was second only to Zhao Mengfu in esteem.
