Japanese: 相生[市] - あいおい

A city in the southwest of Hyogo Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1942. The city center, facing Aioi Bay, developed with the establishment of the Harima Dock Company in 1908, and industrialization progressed with shipbuilding-related industries and internal combustion engines on land, forming part of the Harima coastal industrial zone, with shipbuilding (Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries) at its core. In recent years, the city has been affected by structural recession and is aiming to respond to the advanced industries that have sprung up from Nishiharima Technopolis. The coastal area is part of the Setonaikai National Park, and the Pelon Festival, held every May, is also famous. The Sanyo Main Line, Shinkansen, and Sanyo Expressway pass through the city, and the Ako Line branches off here. 90.40 ^km2 . 31,158 people (2010).

兵庫県南西部の市。1942年市制。相生湾に臨む中心市街は，1908年播磨船渠会社の創設とともに発展，造船関連産業，陸上部門の内燃機関など工業化が進み，造船（石川島播磨重工）を中心に播磨臨海工業地帯の一部をなす。近年構造不況の影響をうけ，西播磨テクノポリスから派生する高度産業の対応をめざす。海岸部は瀬戸内海国立公園に属し，毎年５月に開催されるペーロン祭も有名。山陽本線・新幹線，山陽自動車道が通じ，赤穂線が分岐する。90.40km²。３万1158人（2010）。
