Konoike Shinden - Konoike Shinden

Japanese: 鴻池新田 - こうのいけしんでん

This is one of over 30 new fields created by developing the old riverbed and marshland following the Yamato River diversion project completed in 1704 (the first year of the Hoei period). It is located in the northeastern corner of Wakae County, Kawachi Province (present-day Higashi-Osaka City). It was developed by draining part of the marshland at the end of the old Yamato River tributary (Tamagushi River) with the financial resources of Zen'emon Muneto, the third head of the wealthy Osaka merchant Konoike family. It is considered a prime example of new fields contracted out to townspeople. The development process is as follows: the land rent was paid in January 1705, construction began in May of the same year, and Apprenticeship After many years, it was completed in August 2007. The land surveyed had a land area of 870 koku 3 sho 8 go and an area of 120 cho 1 tan 6 bu.

1704年(宝永1)竣工した大和川付替工事の後に，旧川敷，沼沢地跡を開発して創出された30余の新田の一つ。河内国若江郡の北東隅(現，東大阪市)に位置している。大坂の豪商鴻池家の3代目善右衛門宗利の資力によって旧大和川支流(玉串川)の流末沼沢地の一部を干拓して造成した。町人請負新田の代表例とされている。開発経緯は，05年正月に地代金を上納，同年5月着工，鍬下年季年を経て07年8月に完成した。検地高870石3升8合，面積120町1反6歩であった。
