A former town in Kanzaki District, located in the central-southern part of Hyogo Prefecture, bordering the north of Himeji City. The Bantan Line runs through the town. Rice, bell peppers, broccoli, and other crops are cultivated here. With the development of the Harima coastal industrial zone, industrial and residential land has been developed, and light electrical appliance and food industries are operating here. In March 2006, it was incorporated into Himeji City along with Yumesaki Town, Ieshima Town, and Yasutomi Town, Shisō District. Area: 31.52 km2 . Population: 20,123 (2003).
