This theory seeks to clarify the temperature and density of matter deep inside a star, the reactions that occur there, and the properties that the star exhibits as a result. H. Lane and R. Emden were the first to quantitatively treat the internal structure of stars at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. They calculated the distribution of temperature and pressure inside a star, and showed that the temperature and pressure are so high that the star does not collapse despite its own weight.
