Pain point
A type of sensory point distributed on the skin and mucous membranes. It is a small, point-like area that only causes pain when various external stimuli are applied. They are scattered not only on the skin of the entire body, but also on the mucous membranes of the mouth, pharynx, and nasal cavity. There are 2 to 4 million of them. They can be easily detected as points that cause pain when stimulated with sharp, hard hairs.

皮膚や粘膜に分布する感覚点の一つ。外からいろいろな刺激を加えたときに痛みだけがおこる点状の小区域をいう。全身の皮膚のほか,口腔,咽頭,鼻腔などの粘膜にも散在する。その数は200万〜400万。先のとがった硬い毛で刺激を与えれば痛みをひきおこす点として容易に検出が可能。
