Gokei

Japanese: 豪渓 - ごうけい

A valley in the southwest of central Okayama Prefecture, upstream of the Makidani River, a tributary of the Takahashi River. It is a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty. It spans Makidani in Soja City and Kibichuo Town in Kaga County. Granite joints are well developed, and there are many strangely shaped rocks that have been weathered, making it beautiful in all four seasons. There is a bus service from Soja Station and Gokei Station on the JR Hakubi Line.

岡山県中央部南西寄り、高梁(たかはし)川の支流槇谷(まきだに)川の上流にある渓谷。国指定名勝。総社(そうじゃ)市槇谷と加賀(かが)郡吉備中央(きびちゅうおう)町にまたがる。花崗(かこう)岩の節理が発達し、これが風化した奇岩が多く、四季それぞれに美しい。JR伯備(はくび)線総社駅、豪渓駅からバス便がある。
