The first queen of England to King Henry VIII. The youngest daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, she married Arthur, Prince of Wales, in 1501, but after his death in 1509 remarried his younger brother, Henry VIII. Her daughter later became Mary I. In response to Henry's divorce suit, which sparked the English Reformation, Archbishop Cranmer declared the marriage invalid in 1533, and the Act of Succession the following year confirmed it. Catherine did not accept this and remained in England, but died in Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire.

イギリス国王ヘンリー8世の最初の王妃。スペインのフェルナンドとイサベルの末娘で，1501年イギリス皇太子アーサーと結婚するが，その死後09年弟のヘンリー8世と再婚した。のちのメアリー1世はその娘である。イギリス宗教改革の契機となったヘンリーの離婚訴訟に対して，33年カンタベリー大主教クランマーは結婚無効を宣言し，さらに翌年の王位継承法で確定した。キャサリンはこれを認めずイギリスにとどまったが，ハンティンドンシャーのキンボルトンにて死去した。
