Public sector - government sector

Japanese: 公共部門 - こうきょうぶもん(英語表記)public sector; government sector
Public sector - government sector
This is the collective name for the various public sectors in the national economy, and in fact means the government sector, dividing the entire economy in half with the private sector. Its functions are to adjust resource allocation, redistribute income and wealth, and stabilize the economy. It is broadly divided into the "general government sector" which is responsible for general administration, and the "government enterprise sector" which has a strong business character. The former includes the national general account, the ordinary accounts of local governments, as well as national special accounts and non-business local enterprise accounts. The latter includes special accounts, business accounts that are business-related, and public enterprises. The scale of public sector activity is known from the size of government purchases, and its share of each country's gross national product (GNP) is on the rise.
