Amino [town] - Amino

Japanese: 網野[町] - あみの

A former town in Takeno District, northern Kyoto Prefecture. A producer of Tango crepe. Rice, fruit trees, and tobacco leaves are also grown. The Kitakinki Tango Railway runs through the town. There is a remote lake, a vestige of an inlet, and the Gomura Fault (a natural monument) created by the 1927 Okutango earthquake. The coast called Mizunoeura is part of the San'in Kaigan National Park. In April 2004, it merged with Mineyama Town, Omiya Town, Tango Town, Yasaka Town, and Kumihama Town, all of Naka District, and Kumihama Town, all of Kumano District, to form Kyotango City. Area: 75.07 ^km2 . Population: 16,185 (2003).

京都府北部，竹野郡の旧町。丹後縮緬(ちりめん)の産地。米，果樹，葉タバコも産する。北近畿タンゴ鉄道が通じる。入江のなごりの離(はなれ)湖，1927年の奥丹後地震で生じた郷村断層（天然記念物）がある。水江(みずのえ)浦と呼ばれる海岸は山陰海岸国立公園に属する。2004年４月中郡峰山町，大宮町，竹野郡丹後町，弥栄町，熊野郡久美浜町と合併し，京丹後市となる。75.07km²。１万6185人（2003）。
