Died in 1380. A politician from the early Ming Dynasty in China. Born in Dingyuan (Dingyuan County, Anhui Province). At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, he served under Emperor Taizu (→Emperor Hongwu) in Hezhou (Anhui), and later rose to the position of Left Prime Minister. He was highly trusted by Emperor Taizu, and after the Right Prime Minister Wang Guangyang was demoted, he carried out almost all government affairs on his own. As his power gradually grew, he conspired with the Chief Censor Chen Ning and others to plot a rebellion, sent his subordinates to Japan, and tried to borrow outside power through his friendship with the surviving family of the Yuan Dynasty, but one of his allies, Tosetsu, informed the authorities, and the matter was leaked in advance, leading to his arrest and execution. It is said that 30,000 people were implicated. After this, the Secretariat was abolished, and the emperor's dictatorial power became even stronger.

中国，明初の政治家。定遠 (安徽省定遠県) の人。元末，和州 (安徽) で太祖 (→洪武帝 ) のもとに投じ，のち左丞相にまで上った。太祖の信任厚く，右丞相汪広洋が左遷されたのちは，ほとんど政務の一切を独断専行。しかも勢力が次第に増大すると，御史大夫陳寧らと結んで謀反をはかり，部下を日本へつかわし，元の遺族ともよしみを通じて外部の力を借りようともしたが，一党のと節 (とせつ) が密告したため事前に事が漏れ逮捕，処刑された。連座した者は3万に及んだといわれる。これ以後中書省は廃止され，皇帝独裁権は一層高まった。
