Japanese: 現地生産 - げんちせいさん

When a company establishes a production base overseas and carries out production activities there. Reasons for companies to advance overseas and produce locally include (1) securing overseas resources such as oil, (2) securing overseas markets, (3) responding to trade barriers or trade friction such as high tariffs, import restrictions, or import bans, (4) international cooperation for the industrialization of developing countries, (5) securing cheap labor overseas, (6) the expansion of related parts manufacturers and processing manufacturers into local areas in response to the overseas expansion of large companies, and (7) creating a regional base as part of a global management strategy.
